There's fierce competition afoot in EA's UK forums!
Not between members, but between the two guys sitting just round the corner from here employed by EA to manage the whole thing.
If you weren't aware, EA's forums are massively popular and provide a sounding board for players of everything from The Sims to Spore. The section devoted to FIFA, however, is naturally the biggest. And the best. And has the best people in it. But then maybe I'm biased...
Anyway, EA's hard-working community managers, Baker011 and Omni, have been drawn into deadly conflict with each other. Regular challenges are set by the community and the two of them film the resulting carnage, posting the video for the everyone to view after the event. Not that stacking game boxes could be reasonably dubbed 'carnage', but that was only the first challenge. I'm fully expecting it in the future.
The community is given a chance to vote for the winner before the results are revealed, with anyone naming the victor correctly being put into a draw to win a free game.
One of their recent challenges involved a Soccer-AM-style crossbar challenge, although the competition took place on a five-a-side pitch. Presumably because they're a bit rubbish.
Head over to the thread now to witness Baker011's stocky northern hammer blows pitted against Omni's elfin southern curlers.
Do you agree with the other FIFA forumites that Omni resembles a 12-year-old Doug from Scrubs? Let him know in the forum.
