Once you’ve had a quick scout around EA SPORTS™ Football World, one of your first priorities should be to expand your Friends List. As well as making you look extremely popular, adding mates to your list of Friends makes it easier for you to stay in touch with your nearest and dearest (see Messaging) and keep up-to-date with their activities (e.g. blog updates, recent performances).

· To check whether a Friend is online, look at the monitor icon to the left of their name in your Friends List.

Sending Friend Requests

Here’s how to fill up that big, blank Friends List and avoid the dreaded Billy-no-mates label.

First of all, you need to find your Friend. You can do this in two ways:

· Select a member’s profile name to access their Profile page and then select REQUEST AS FRIEND from under their Avatar.

· Type part of their profile name into the search box in the top right-hand corner of the screen and select the arrow symbol. Then, find the member you wish to invite in the search results and select ADD FRIEND.

To send the invite, type a personal message into the text box and select SEND.

Accepting Friend Requests

As well as sending out invites, you’ll most likely also be receiving requests from Friends already on the site, so keep an eye on your Inbox. To accept a request, select the relevant message (it will have a Subject heading of "Friend Request") and then select the link in the body of that message. The name of your new Friend will then be added to your Friends List.

Messaging

EA SPORTS™ Football World provides a number of ways for members to stay in touch. The easiest method is Messaging.

To access your My Messages screen, select NEW MESSAGES in the top left-hand corner of any screen (or select MAILBOX from the New Message screen). Once there, select a message in your Inbox to read it.

To send a message, select SEND NEW MESSAGE in the top left-hand corner of any screen (or select NEW MESSAGE in the My Messages screen). Then choose a Friend from the drop-down list at the top of the screen, write your message and select SEND (alternatively, select MESSAGE next to a Friend’s name in the My Friends screen).

· The Messaging tool makes it easy for members to stay up-to-date with Friends and get more involved in the community. Anyone found abusing the system should be reported to EA SPORTS™ Football World staff immediately.

Deleting a Friend

To delete a Friend from your Friends List, select the tick box to the right of their name and then click DELETE SELECTED at the bottom of the screen.
